Opportunity Programs
SUNY Educational Opportunity Program (E.O.P.) - The SUNY EOP Program provides academically and/or financially disadvantaged students access and academic assistance, who may not have been otherwise been offered admission, to the SUNY schools of their choice. Essentially, the EOP Program looks to provide more accessible admissions requirements, in terms of SAT & ACT scores and GPA, for students who meet a particular financial and academic criteria.
The College Search
In general, when looking for the right college, your Grade Point Average (GPA) and Examination scores can serve as a framework in determining which schools are Reach Schools, Match Schools, and Safety Schools.
Reach Schools are schools that have admissions requirements that exceed your GPA and Exam Scores, but are still worth looking into and peak your interest.
Match Schools are schools that have admissions requirements that, for the most part, resemble your GPA and Exam Scores.
Safety Schools are schools that have admissions requirements that are below your GPA and Exam Scores. These schools are your back-up in case your Match or Reach Schools don't accept your application.
